We wanted to share a really exciting strategy our agency, Experience Advertising, used to grow one of our client’s affiliate programs on the CJ Affiliate Network . Below, are the growth charts of an ecommerce client of our agency that was launched on the CJ Affiliate Network in May of 2020. The revenue growth trajectory in the account has been picture perfect. This was accomplished through a few effective affiliate management techniques, including using video conference calls to work more closely with publishers:
1. Very proactive affiliate/publisher recruiting on CJ’s network (the best affiliate/publisher database in the industry). We use our proprietary affiliate recruiting processes on the account to convert a high percentage of the offers we send to relevant publishers. We primarily focus on recruiting targeted, relevant publishers for our clients.
2. Sending frequent affiliate/publisher newsletters with promotions from the brand. All affiliates love to share promos with their audience, so this is a very important aspect in increasing overall participation and traction in the affiliate program, as well as increasing traffic and sales over time.
3. Setting up Zoom Chats with Publishers – we completed several (5 per week on average) video conference calls with publishers of all sizes about working closer with the brand. These video calls were very well received in general by the publishers, and very effective at engaging them and discussing strategies like doing product reviews and ways to promote to their audiences. These calls are fun and in our opinion the best way to build the relationship with publishers in your affiliate program.

As you can see revenue, clicks, and number of items sold are all trending up nicely over time, exactly what you want to see in your affiliate program. This is only possible with a very proactive approach to recruiting new publishers on the network and implementing intensive affiliate management techniques like: frequent newsletter sending with promos, sending personalized emails to publishers asking for calls, and having video conference calls with publishers.
