3 Ways to Increase Your Online Productivity

I’m one of those people that likes to work a lot, maybe it’s because I work on a computer primarily not sure, so I try (with little things here and there) to increase the amount of work I’m capable of doing in a days time. The moving clock actually gives me a little bit of anxiety sometimes (I know I’m a freak). Anyways, I think everyone has their own “speed” at which they work, but everyone should be trying to be more productive with whatever task they are doing. I think most people want to be more productive by nature because there is a satisfaction that comes with being productive at whatever it is. Here are some ways that I use to improve my productivity, with some examples of tools I like to use:

1. Typing Speed – people that know me know that typing speed will always be #1 on the list, but its so true that the faster you type the more content you can produce. Doing things like reading a lot and frequently writing will improve your ability to write and let the content follow easier through your fingers. Once you have a nice pace going you can edit it later so don’t get hung up on every word or sentence and just write as fast as you can! Planning for the task is a good idea and researching the topic can help your comfortability with the subject so you can write faster.

2. Tools – there are so many amazing tools out there I won’t bore you with the reason why you should use them, it’s a given. Things like keyword tools, social posting tools, sharing tools are all great to use and are everywhere once you know how to search for them. Google phrases like: Best Social Networking Tools, Top WordPress Plug-in, and Best Article Directories. These are just examples that illustrate the fact that all the best tools are out there and most are free. You shouldn’t have to spend a penny with what’s out there now. Some of my favorites are:
Ping.fm – posting to multiple social networks at once.
Screenr.com- making screen capture videos that you can share easily on Facebook, upload to Youtube which are great for promotional videos and product reviews.
Wibiya.com Toolbar – I love this footer tool bar you can plug into your site or blog – it has sharing/social buttons, your Fan Page content, FB Like button, Twitter share, cool stats, welcome message pop, and more…all for free. These tools allow you to maximize what you doing with your sites and blogs, so you can produce and share content easier and quicker. These are but a few tools, I can provide more if you ask.

3. Lists – making lists of the important things you need to accomplish in a week is great for staying on top of things and getting them accomplished. This isn’t a new idea by any means, but it works. Get an app, use Google Docs, a few legal pads, all of the above..whatever it takes to facilitate you to make lists and knock them out one by one. Lists help you focus and not go off on a tangent, although it happens of course. But you should return back to your list and get it done!

These are a few ways to increase your productivity, I’m mainly referring to online work with a computer. I think the more dedicated you are to what you are doing the more productive and efficient you will be and if you focus just a little bit on increasing your productivity you can make great strides! Thanks for checking out my post. I will be contributing them here often. Let me know your thoughts about productivity!
